The public health and central labs sector strives to spread health awareness and improves the public health in the emirate of Sharjah by preparing, coordinating and executing health education and environmental awareness programs. The section supervises on all foodstuff imported to the emirate or locally produced and sold in the markets. It ensures that all food establishments are complied with the applicable rules and regulations, and the approved standards. The sector also provides veterinarian services and animal and bird marker control. It carries out health control inspections on all establishments that have relations to public health, such as hotels, schools, nurseries, gents' hairdressers, beauty salons, healthy food shops, cosmetics personal care products shops.
