The city of Sharjah is one of the cities within the emirate and well located between two
lakes. It is a vibrant city that is rich in culture and artistic treasures. The UNESCO declared
Sharjah city the capital of culture in the Arab world for its obvious efforts to preserve and
promote Arab traditions. The artistic treasures of the city are exhibited through 20
museums, art galleries and architectural monuments spread across it. The cultural and
entertainment activities are held in the city throughout the year.

The city of Sharjah is at the forefront of the Arab cities that care for afforestation and
landscaping. Most of its streets and squares are covered with greenery in exquisite
geometric shapes. The city has more than 60 public and neighborhood parks located
throughout its territory to provide residents with recreational attractions.
