About Sharjah

The Emirate of Sharjah is distinguished by its ancient history and rich culture. The
modernity and authentic traditions are combined and reflexed in its cultural and 
educational edifices. It is located in the center of the United Arab Emirates and having
borders with all other emirates of the state, and also with the Sultanate of Oman. It
possesses the largest share of nature reserves in the UAE, like beaches, mangrove 
reserves, acacia forests and palm groves.

The city of Sharjah is one of the cities within the emirate and well located between two 
lakes. It is a vibrant city that is rich in culture and artistic treasures. The UNESCO declared 
Sharjah city the capital of culture in the Arab world for its obvious efforts to preserve and 
promote Arab traditions. The artistic treasures of the city are exhibited through 20 
museums, art galleries and architectural monuments spread across it. The cultural and 
entertainment activities are held in the city throughout the year.

The city of Sharjah is at the forefront of the Arab cities that care for afforestation and 
landscaping. Most of its streets and squares are covered with greenery in exquisite 
geometric shapes. The city has more than 60 public and neighborhood parks located
throughout its territory to provide residents with recreational attractions.

The city provides multiple facilities to the business sector, so it has become an attractive 
destination for investors and business owners. That is only one of the factors that 
promote quality of life and welfare for its residents and visitors.​
