10/21/2024

H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX Global 2024, who is also the director General of Sharjah Digital Authority, honored Sharjah City Municipality for securing first place as the best project within the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX. The award recognized the municipality’s outstanding contribution, which enriched the knowledge of visitors, particularly through its presentation of the UAE’s first-of-its-kind Smart Testing System, launched during the event.

Reem Abdullah Al Roussi, Head of the Innovation Team at the municipality, accepted the award in the presence of several team members and employees, all of whom played a key role in providing in-depth explanations about the project and the municipality’s participation in the exhibition.

H.E. Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, noted that this achievement reflects the municipality's commitment to continuous development and modernization of services, tools, and systems across various municipal fields. He emphasized that this digital transformation aligns with the Sharjah Government’s vision to streamline services for customers and investors, saving both time and effort. He added that participating in GITEX as part of the Sharjah Government Pavilion serves as a strong motivator, encouraging employees to innovate and turn creative ideas into high-efficiency projects.
Reem Abdullah Al Roussi also shared that the municipality showcased a short film on its platform about the Smart Testing System, outlining the testing process, duration, and functions of the device. The team provided detailed insights into the project’s features and benefits, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the municipality’s efforts to apply best practices and embrace digital transformation in various municipal operations, in line with Sharjah’s comprehensive development.

Al Roussi commended the exceptional organization of the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX and highlighted the significant support extended to participating government entities and departments.
