Sharjah Municipality Unveils Advanced Al-SAD 1500 Emergency Pumps to Enhance Emergency Preparedness
Sharjah City Municipality has introduced its latest Al-SAD 1500 high-performance emergency pumps, designed to handle everything from winter rainwater accumulation to flood response. As part of the municipality’s expanding infrastructure fleet, these pumps demonstrate its commitment to advancing critical projects and providing outstanding services to residents.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, inaugurated the new units alongside senior municipal officials. He emphasized that the municipality continually upgrades its equipment to support year-round initiatives, from agricultural programs to major infrastructure developments, and to equip field teams with dependable, efficient tools for rapid emergency response, traffic clearance, and protection of life and property.
Each Al-SAD 1500 unit is a fully integrated smart system capable of pumping 1,800 m³ of water per hour to a maximum head of 2,000 m, making it one of the most powerful and efficient pumps in the region. Its automated suction deployment allows the system to be fully operational within ten minutes of arriving on site, and its 270° rotating boom offers flexible positioning. These pumps have already aided firefighting efforts, notably in extinguishing the recent blaze at Al Hamriyah Port.
Equipped with an auto-stabilization unit that adapts to all environmental conditions and an independent generator to ensure uninterrupted operation, even during power outages or in remote locations, Al-SAD 1500 embodies Sharjah’s vision for continuous infrastructure enhancement and rapid emergency readiness.
“We conducted a full-scale field trial on Flag Island to validate the pump’s effectiveness and readiness,” Al Tunaiji said. “Sharjah Municipality will continue to expand its fleet with cutting-edge equipment that meets the emirate’s needs and guarantees the highest quality of service.”
