Sharjah Municipality Trains 23 Employees as Certified ISO Internal Auditors through Intensive Program

Sharjah City Municipality has announced the successful completion of an intensive training program designed to certify 23 employees as internal auditors on ISO standards. The program included specialized workshops covering key ISO systems and internal auditing principles. Participants were carefully selected based on their roles and responsibilities, aiming to enhance their competencies and align performance with international standards across municipal operations.
Budour Al Hammadi, Director of the Corporate Development Department, stated that the initiative is part of the municipality’s strategic plan to build human capital, improve internal readiness, and ensure the highest levels of institutional quality and accreditation. She emphasized that the training empowers staff to identify internal improvement opportunities and implement best practices that enhance service efficiency and support the municipality’s strategic objectives.
The program, held over four weeks, consisted of four intensive workshops that covered a wide range of topics including ISO 22301 (Business Continuity), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 31000 (Risk Management), and ISO 9001 (Quality Management). Participants also received hands-on training on internal auditing processes in accordance with these standards.
Al Hammadi added that the training deepened employees' understanding of ISO requirements and strengthened their ability to conduct effective internal audits. As a result, the trained team is now equipped to support institutional excellence and ensure continuous compliance with international quality standards. Participants received official certifications as internal auditors in each of the covered ISO areas
