2/26/2020

Sharjah City Municipality continued its extensive field inspections on illegal farms that were set up without the obtaining the required permits. The total number of illegal farms that were removed during these field inspections reached 131 farms in 2019.
The municipality took all measures to regulate these farms and spread awareness among the farms owners about the negative impact of setting up farms without obtaining the required permits or abiding by the applicable laws and regulations.
Khalifa Al Suwaidi, head of the Municipal Inspection Section stressed that the municipality is keen to spread awareness among the owners of the illegal farms about the negative impact of these farms on the environment and community.
He added the municipality organizes regular campaigns to remove the illegal farms in some areas of the city as a response to complaints received from community members. The violators are given sufficient time to remove the violations.
