Sharjah Municipality Launches Online Sewerage Information Request Service

1/23/2025

Sharjah City Municipality has launched an enhanced online service for requesting information on sewerage services, in line with Sharjah Government’s digital transformation initiatives. This service, which is part of the ongoing efforts to streamline government services and improve the customer experience, enables businesses and government entities to access sewerage-related data for specific locations.
The launch of this service follows extensive updates and improvements aimed at keeping pace with the Emirate’s rapid urban growth and the increasing demand for infrastructure development. It allows users to obtain information on existing sewerage networks, stormwater drainage systems, and treated water irrigation networks, which are vital details for planning and executing construction and infrastructure projects.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, explained that the service ensures that construction projects can be carried out without damaging critical sewerage networks. "This service is vital for safeguarding the efficiency and functionality of these systems during excavation and construction works," he said.
Eng. Khalifa bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director of Technical Services at the Municipality, added that the service has seen significant demand, with over 3,500 requests processed last year. In response to this demand, the Municipality has worked to enhance the service’s speed and simplicity. Requests can now be submitted online through the Municipality’s website, where applicants must upload the required documents.
The service follows a streamlined process: after submission, the team reviews and verifies the request, adds technical notes, and provides a detailed map of the sewerage services at the specified location. Applicants are also notified of services outside the plot boundaries, ensuring transparency and clarity.
