SCM rolls out campaign to monitor and demolish abandoned buildings

In implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) started a wide campaign in various areas of the city to monitor and demolish the abandoned houses that are in poor condition.
This campaign comes within the SCM efforts to enhance the cultural appearance of Sharjah and in line with the great urban, aesthetic and population boom witnessed in Sharjah.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the SCM said that the SCM formed a team to follow up and deal with the abandoned buildings in the city of Sharjah. The ongoing efforts reflect the SCM keenness to provide an ideal environment for residents and visitors and to strengthen Sharjah’s position as a healthy city and a model for the most livable cities worldwide. He pointed out that the SCM has since the beginning of this year demolished 11 abandoned buildings.
He urged the public to contact the SCM on its call center 993 for any comments or inquiries regarding the abandoned houses
