10 illegal behaviours to avoid on green spaces

12/8/2022

Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) is intensifying control over green spaces during the winter season in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Jamal Al Mazmi, head of City's Appearance Control Section, confirmed that the SCM is intensifying control and awareness activities on green spaces where large numbers of the public gather to enjoy the beautiful weather in the winter season. It organizes continuous inspection to ensure compliance with the relevant laws and instructions. Leaflets are distributed to the public to warn them against practicing illegal practices that distort the appearance of the city. The SCM deployed more than 60 inspectors to ensure compliance with the rules on the green areas and beaches.
Al Mazmi pointed out that there are 10 behaviours that must be avoided on green spaces, including littering, damaging or vandalizing public properties, barbecue, playing football, accompanying pets, destroying plants and flowers, riding bicycles or motorbikes, shisha, loud sound systems, and camping without a permit.
He added that the SCM is keen to create an ideal atmosphere for residents and visitors, deal with violations and illegal behaviours, and take the appropriate action against violators. It aims to enhance the civilized and aesthetic appearance of the city and bring happiness and satisfaction to the public.
He also noted that the SCM welcomes any comments and suggestions from the public through its call centre at 993 round the clock.
