Staying in vehicle does not exempt drivers from paying parking fees

3/30/2023
Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) is keen to raise public awareness about the proper way of using its public parking services in the city. It has allocated several channels to receive customers’ inquiries and concerns, including the call center at 993. The SCM warned that staying in a vehicle does not exempt the driver from paying parking fees. Drivers have to pay the parking fees as long as they occupy or use a parking pay. That is to make sure that as many drivers as possible can use the available parking spaces. The SCM gives time limit of 10 minutes from the start of parking to pay the fees through any of the available payment channels, including parking meters, smsParking and Digital Sharjah App. Parking users can also avail parking subscriptions, which allow motorists to park in all areas of the city or in two specific areas selected by them.
