Sharjah Municipality replaces paper lease contracts with electronic forms

Sharjah City Municipality has stopped the use of all types of paper lease contracts and replaced them with electronic documents. Accordingly, customers are no longer obligated to purchase paper contracts from the sales outlets. The contract attestation process has become easier by obtaining the contract from the municipality's website.

Thabit Al Turaifi, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, said that stopping the use of paper contracts is part of the municipality's plans for digital transformation of all its services within its “Sapeq" digital project.

He added that the municipality is keen to develop its work procedures, and take advantage of the application of the remote work system during the COVID-19 pandemic to create opportunities for improvement, development and modernization of services.
Al Turaifi pointed out that this step comes in line with the municipality's strategy to become a paperless municipality at the end of the current year by relying entirely on smart programs and digital technologies and completely abolishing the use of paper.
