Sharjah City Municipality has achieved the National Standard Certificate for Business Continuity Management System (AE/SCNS/NCEMA 7000:2021), issued by the National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), in recognition of its exemplary service delivery during emergencies. The award ceremony, attended by H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, celebrated the municipality’s commitment to meeting rigorous assessment criteria and implementing best practices in emergency response aligned with Sharjah’s proactive approach.
H.E. Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Director of Customer Service, accepted the award on behalf of the municipality, along with the dedicated team responsible for fulfilling the certification’s high standards. The ceremony, hosted by the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, recognized entities excelling in business continuity, essential service operations, and crisis management.
H.E. Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, highlighted that Sharjah has set a benchmark in emergency and crisis management thanks to the unwavering support of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and the oversight of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler. Their commitment has ensured top-tier service continuity and prioritization of public welfare, particularly during emergencies.
Al Tunaiji expressed gratitude to NCEMA and the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority for their support in crisis preparedness, recognizing the Sharjah Local Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Team’s contributions in coordinating efforts to maintain uninterrupted services. He emphasized that these efforts create a high standard of public health, safety, and quality of life in the emirate.
Dr. Sheikha Shatha Al Mualla, Director of Corporate Support, noted that the municipality has implemented forward-looking strategies and resources to manage emergencies with professionalism. She added that the municipality’s proactive crisis responses have consistently safeguarded the community and ensured uninterrupted services, with the certification marking a milestone in its dedication to safety and operational continuity.
Al Mualla further highlighted the municipality’s adherence to all necessary standards to secure the certification. She pointed to the flexibility in service continuity, digital transformation initiatives, and remote service capabilities as key components of the municipality’s strategy to simplify processes for customers and ensure efficient, uninterrupted service delivery.
