Sharjah Municipality Attracts 2,000 Participants in Fun Summer Program

8/29/2024

Sharjah City Municipality has successfully concluded the sixth edition of its Fun Summer Program, drawing significant participation from children. The program featured a wide range of workshops aimed at enriching the summer break for participants through educational and cultural activities, diverse competitions, and engaging experiences.
Sheikha Dr. Shatha Al Mualla, Director of Institutional Support at Sharjah City Municipality, emphasized that the program attracted 2,000 participants, including children of the municipality’s employees, highlighting its growing success year after year. She noted that the program not only provides a fun-filled environment during the summer but also underscores the municipality's commitment to community engagement and enhancing public interaction.
Ali Obaid Al Hamoudi, Director of Government Communication, mentioned that the program was organized across four parks in Sharjah to maximize participation. He added that this year’s program was open to all children, without the need for registration or a fixed number of participants, to ensure the widest possible benefit from its various activities.
The program targeted girls aged 7-12 and boys aged 5-9, and was divided into two phases: the first phase for the children of municipality employees, held at the municipality’s library in the main building at Al Musalla, and the second phase for children from the public at Al Fayha New Park, Al Mahatta Park, Al Ramtha Park, and Al Qarayen 1 Park.
Al Hamoudi also pointed out that the municipality’s efforts to enrich the summer break were not limited to this program. Additional workshops and competitions were organized as part of the Sharjah Children's Centers’ summer program, engaging over 260 participants.
