Sharjah Municipality: AED 16.755 billion contractual value of building permits in Sharjah last year

2/22/2022

Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) announced that the contractual value of building permits in the city of Sharjah grew significantly during past year, reaching AED 16,755 billion, while the contractual value of building permits for which certificates of completion were issued reached AED 22.263 billion. This reflects the SCM keenness to provide all facilities for investors and address any challenges they may face.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the SCM, stressed that Sharjah emirate is a model to be emulated worldwide, thanks to the wise visions and directions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his support to enhance the emirate’s status globally.
Al Tunaiji pointed out that the engineering and buildings sector made several achievements during the past year in various fields, including those related to the development of infrastructure and services, which contributed to the high growing rate of construction in the emirate.
He added that the SCM issued during last year 55,379 engineering permits, and organized more than 81,000 inspection visits in various areas of Sharjah. The electronic transactions increased to 42% of the total engineering transactions. This percentage will continue to grow until the completion of the digital transformation project at the SCM.
