SCM launches Sharjah Health Safety Program, targets 3,000 facilities

3/4/2022

Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) launched the Sharjah Health Safety Program (SHSP) to raise the level of health awareness among workers in barbershops and beauty centers. The SHSF comes in line with the SCM strategy and its role in promoting public health in the city of Sharjah, ensuring the safety of community members, and emphasizing cooperation with the concerned facilities. The program will provide training on the application of the highest and best international health practices.

Sheikha Maha Al Mualla, Director of Conformity Assessment Office in the Public Health and Central Laboratories Sector at the SCM confirmed that the SHSP aims to raise awareness among workers in barbershops and beauty centers by organizing training courses approved by the SCM. The implementation of the SHSP will reduce violations and negative practices in salons and beauty centers. It will also reduce the transmission of diseases to those who deal with those facilities.
She pointed out that the SCM targets 3000 facilities to join the SHSP.
