SCM laboratories get UKAS accreditation for 24th year in a row

5/23/2023

Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) has announced that its central laboratories have achieved international accreditation for their technical quality system in analysis from the British Accreditation Authority "UKAS" for the 24th consecutive year. This accreditation was renewed after successfully passing all annual audits that evaluate the technical quality of the food laboratory, environment laboratory, consumables laboratory, and building materials laboratory.

The SCM achievement in obtaining this accreditation is a result of its exceptional services and accurate analysis, facilitated by state-of-the-art equipment that is consistently updated, and well experienced technical and administrative staff.
Furthermore, the SCM reported that a total of 31,452 samples were processed and tested during the first quarter of this year in its laboratories. This reflects the its ongoing efforts to implement sound health practices and strengthen the public health system in the Emirate of Sharjah.
