2/17/2019

Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) has launched phase 1 of the implementation of Sabeq digital transformation program, through which it aspires to transform its workplace into a fully digital environment, as per the comprehensive strategy of the government of Sharjah that aims to provide smart and digital services and adopt facilitated work processes in line with the best international standards.

The phase 1 of Sabeq implementation consisted of the ERP systems which included the services and procedures of the departments of the human resources, purchasing and contracts, property and investment, warehouses, projects, as well as the internal maintenance, sales and quality control procedures. This phase also included the financial services and procedures whose programs were linked to the systems of the strategic partners.

Abdulla Al Qaydi, assistant DG for corporate support and head of the digital transformation team at the SCM, said the phase 1 of the implementation of Sabeq program has already been kicked off after hard work and huge efforts exerted by work teams in the municipality in order to meet the deadlines set in the time plan of the program, starting from the exploration phase which began last March to identify work procedures of each department, and then came the development and testing of systems, training of staff, until we reached to this stage where the Sabeq program  is operated and the required technical support is provided to the end users.

He stressed that the achievement made during the previous period is a milestone and a major step towards the full implementation of the program in accordance with the comprehensive strategic plan of the Government of Sharjah, pointing out that the coming days will see detailed planning for the second phase of the implementation of Sabeq, Which will include automation of customer services and operational procedures associated with strategic partners.

Al Qaydi praised the commitment of all employees to engage deeply in the training process on the advanced digital systems of the program "Sabeq" and their keenness to participate in the success of this huge project, which will make a quantum leap in procedures and the quality of services provided to customers.
