Farm Encroachment Removal Committee Launches Inspection Tours in Central Region Cities

9/2/2024

The Farm Encroachment Removal Committee in Sharjah has expanded its field inspections to cover farms in the cities of the central region, beginning with Al Dhaid. These inspections aim to assess the situation, enforce necessary legal and administrative measures, and rectify the status of non-compliant farms. The goal is to encourage farm owners to utilize their land optimally, in line with its designated purposes.
Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Director of Customer Service at Sharjah City Municipality and Chairman of the Farm Encroachment Removal Committee, highlighted the expanded efforts to monitor violations in farms across the central region's cities. These actions align with the directives of the Sharjah Executive Council and include visits to various areas to minimize violations, enforce regulations, enhance the emirate's aesthetic and civil appearance, preserve property, and prevent misuse or unauthorized activities.
Al Suwaidi noted that the committee began its efforts in Al Dhaid in coordination with the city's municipality. This followed a meeting with the directors of the central region's municipalities at Al Dhaid City Municipality, where the committee reviewed its ongoing efforts to monitor encroachments. The meeting also stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to limit negative practices, correct violations, facilitate compliance, and raise awareness about the proper use of agricultural lands.
The Chairman added that the committee will continue its inspections throughout the central region, in line with its strategic plans to rectify the status of farms. The initiative aims to encourage the use of farms for agriculture, livestock farming, leisure, and eco-tourism while reducing harmful practices and misuse that negatively affect the environment and community. Additionally, these efforts are intended to promote security, stability, agricultural productivity, and environmental sustainability.
