Sharjah City Municipal Council and Municipality launches environmental initiative

Sharjah City Municipal Council and Sharjah City Municipality launched “Hatabkom Alayna” initiative for the fifth year in a row. This environmental initiative is aimed to provide the UAE citizens with the tree trunks that were generated from the regular agricultural maintenance. 
The SCM is keen to launch this initiative each year at the beginning of the winter during which recreational trips are taken place widely. This initiative is also part of the environmental and social initiatives that enhance communication with the community.
Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of Sharjah City Municipal Council, said that the Municipal Council and Municipality are keen to organize social initiatives and events that brings happiness to the public. 
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the SCM, pointed out that the SCM is keen to protect the environment and achieve sustainability by organizing such initiatives.
He added that the SCM allocated this initiative to the citizens of the Emirate of Sharjah according to a set of conditions, including granting each beneficiary only one light truck load. Beneficiaries are also requested to bring their Emirates ID and passport upon loading. The SCM will provide tree trunks until stocks run out and on first-come-first-served basis.
The SCM noted to the public that requests are submitted through the call center on 993 or WhatsApp number 0562601111. The requests will be received starting from November 14, and the distribution will start from November 21.
