SCM designs sun hats from recycled materials for its workers

7/13/2021

Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) designed sun hats that can reduce heat and humidity for its workers during work at the field.
The hats were provided with fans to reduce the heat. This initiative comes in line with the SCM strategy to ensure appropriate work conditions for its employees and the vision of the smiling emirate of Sharjah to provide field workers with all means for their happiness, comfort, protection and safety, especially with the beginning of the summer season.
Eng. Humaid Al Banna, Director of Transportation Department, stated that these hats were invented and designed from recycled materials. The hat base consists of light metal wires that do not constitute extra weight. They were covered with shade nets and reflective signs to be seen by road users during the night. Two fans were also placed on sides to reduce heat and humidity. The fans operate for 3 hours continuously and can be recharged.
He confirmed that the SCM will work to develop the sun hats to operate on solar energy.
