SM concludes preparations for Ramadan

6/8/2015
Sharjah City Municipality (SM) has completed dressing up Sharjah city's streets and squares in preparation for Ramadan. The decorative lights include Islamic designs inspired by the spiritual flavour of the month.
"The municipality intensifies inspection campaigns on supermarkets, shops and food distributors to ensure their compliance with the health and hygiene standards," said Abdul Aziz Al Mansouri, Assistant Director-General of the SM.
He added the Municipality has decorated the city's streets with a vast array of eye-catching illuminations to welcome Ramadan. The decorative lights include Islamic designs inspired by the spiritual flavour of the month — generating both glamour and tranquility.
Al Mansouri revealed that the SM in cooperation with the Sharjah Charity Association will set up an Iftar tent at the municipality's labour camp in the third Industrial Zone. A number of religious lectures will be held in different languages to make the religious instruction easier and more understandable for the Labourers.
The municipality will also organize football and cultural competitions for its staff and will give precious rewards and gifts for the winners.
