Sharjah Municipality organizes intensified campaigns to remove eyesores, clean directional signs

5/6/2015
The municipality has put together a team to clear direction signs, lampposts, walls and other civic amenities of such bills.
The Sharjah Municipality has intensified its efforts to remove illegal advertisement bills on the emirate’s civic amenities. Such posters and stickers, the municipality said, distort the city’s appearance.
The municipality has put together a team to clear direction signs, lampposts, walls and other civic amenities of such bills.
Salim Al Suwaidi, director of transportation department at the Sharjah Municipality said: “We are increasingly getting complaints from the public about such random advertisements in public squares, parking areas and parks,” he said.
He added the team members will work in shifts to remove all eyesores, and clean or replace old directional signs.
The team will work round the clock to preserve the beauty of the city. Those caught putting up random illegal advertisements will be fined Dh200, he warned.
