1/21/2015
Sharjah City Municipality (SM) has launched the photography contest 2015 as part of its social role to encourage professional photographers and shutterbugs to highlight the aesthetic and cultural image of Sharjah by taking photographs of the public parks, gardens, squares and other landmarks situated across the city.
This photography contest will be held annually to open the door for talented photographers to utilize their talents and shed the light on the beauty of Sharjah, said Nada Al Suwaidi, director of Corporate Communications at the SM.
She pointed out that some distinctive photos will be utilized by the municipality in its publications and media to be shown to wide audience, and municipality will organize a gallery for the best photos in its new headquarters.
She asserted that all Emaratis and expatriates, whether professionals or amateurs, can participate in the contest,  provided that photos must be the property of the participant, taken recently and reflex the cultural and aesthetic image of Sharjah. Photos with signature, inscription or those manipulated by graphic programs will not be accepted.
She said each participant can, till 19 February 2015, submit up to three photos in JPEG format to the email of Corporate Communications Department: ccd@shjmun.gov.ae.
