SM organizes Umrah trip for distinguished workers for second year

4/17/2014
The Sharjah City Municipality (SM) has sent 55 persons of different nationalities to perform Umrah. The selected persons have never performed Umrah. The initiative was in collaboration with Sharjah Charity Association.
“The municipality’s organization of this Umrah trip for a number of its workers comes within the framework of its social support of workers and its keenness on workers’ welfare,” said Reyadh Abdulla Aylan, Director-General of the SM.
This is the second year in which the municipality is organizing Umrah trip for its workers. Last year the municipality sent 50 workers of its staff to perform Umrah. The selected persons for Umrah have never performed Umrah before. They were selected according to a number of criteria, including their level of performance and the number of years of employment with the municipality, he added.
Aylan praised the efforts exerted by the Sharjah Charity Association to facilitate the Umrah trip and provide the workers with all they need in the trip, including hotel accommodation, travel, subsistence, transportation as well as pocket money.
