Sharjah Municipality (SM), in the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, has rescheduled the working hours of several of its service departments, including the paid parking lots under its jurisdiction.
Acting director-general of SM, Riad Abdullah Bin Eilan, said that that the modified work schedules in a number of departments and divisions of the civic body, were adopted to suit the requirements of the public during Ramadan and to ensure continuous services.
The modified timings for paid parking in all areas of the city of Sharjah during the Holy Month of Ramadan will be 8 am to 1 pm and 7 pm until midnight everyday.
There is no change in the morning timings while the rescheduled evening time, as well as the parking fee, will remain the same as the last Ramadan period, he said.
In the Department of Health, the public clinic will start work at 9 am till noon and the next schedule will be from 9 pm to 11 pm. This shift will provide services to the public, avoiding rush hour pressure at work expected during the month due to reduced working hours in government departments.
However, there is a change in the dates of opening and closing of the National Park during the month of Ramadan.
In order to provide an opportunity for families and other residents to enjoy the multiple services provided by the park, it will remain open from 8 pm to 12.30 am, the official said.
All other gardens in the city will open at 8 pm and remain open till 30 minutes after midnight.
The department of ratification of lease agreements will be working, from nine in the morning until 5 pm in the interest of the municipality to provide an opportunity for customers to complete their transactions. Meanwhile, the process of ratification of the residential agreements will continue from 9 am till noon in all other municipal branches.
At the same time, the municipality will continue intensified food inspection campaigns during the month of Ramadan to follow up and monitor the market to ensure the validity and quality of food products supplied by the vendors.
The municipality has completed all preparations for the month of Ramadan, including decoration of streets, squares, public places and parks with decorative lights and attractive hoardings and posters on the ongoing summer sales and other activities, the official said.
